1.5 cun lateral to the lower border of the spinous process of the first thoracic vertebra (T1) • Locate at the visible highest point of the paraspinal muscles. |
Needling |
Type: Oblique Depth: 0.5 to 1 cun |
Description: Oblique insertion towards the spine, 0.5 to 1 cun, or transverse-oblique insertion 1 to 1.5 cun. |
Caution: Perpendicular needling carries risk of pneumothorax. |
