Swelling compresses the median tendon/nerve. Blood stasis may occur in the local area (common - good results with TCM). TCM: Wind Damp Cold Bi, Overworking with local Qi and Blood deficiency

According to WEN BING: Treatment must first clear internal heat then vent pathogen. For lingering heat toxin in Lower Jiao: Yin Qiao Hong Jiang Jie Du Tang. For Lingering damp heat in the Lower Jiao, use Long Dan Xie Gan Tang. After eliminating the pathogen, one must harmonize with formulas that include: Xiao Chai Hu Tang, Da Chai Hu Tang, Hao Qin Qing Dan Tang, Da Yuan Yin, Si Ni San, Chai Hu Shu Gan Tang, Xiao Yao San, or Ban Xia Xie Xin Tang.
