Location
In the depression 0.5 cun below DU-16. Below C1 spinous process ( not palpable).
Needling
Type: Perpendicular    Depth:  0.5 to 1 cun
Description: Perpendicular insertion 0.5 to 1 cun, pointing slightly inferiorly
Caution: Contraindicated for moxa. No deep perpendicular or superior oblique insertion toward the brain is allowed since the spinal canal lies between 1.5 and 2 cun deep to the skin surface.
Notes
