- Do not use if pregnant.
- A key ingredient in this formula is Bupleuri Chinensis, which contains saikosaponins, a chemical that might make bleeding worse. If you are taking a blood thinner drug, this formula may interact with those drugs. Same reason why one should stop taking this formula at least 2 weeks prior to a surgery. If you are taking diabetes medication, you must also be careful that there is no interaction with blood thinners.
- Bupleuri Chinensis also boosts the immune system. Therefore, it may worsen the conditions of Auto-immune diseases (multiple sclerosis, erythematosus, lupus, rheumatoid arthritis)
ALERT: Contraindications of each herb - use with caution under these conditions:
Chai Hu: Do not use as intramuscular injections • Liver fire • Hyperactive liver yang • Cytochrome P450, 2C9, 2E1, 2D6, and 3A4 • Greater than 19g may lead to liver injury
