Be cautions with all medicine.
- Ku Shen contains furanocoumarins, which causes a grapefruit effect on certain medications. Furanocoumarins can inhibit enteric CYP3A, which impacts the activity of drug metabolizing enzymes. This can lead to an overdose or poor absorption of some medication.
- Ku Shen has cytosine, which can be toxic like nicotine. Overdose can lead to poisoning.
