Decoction Directions: The original formula called for adding horse manure.  This is not used today.  Sometimes, boy urine (age 12 or younger) is added or nothing is added to the decoction.

Caution
ALERT: Contraindications of each herb - use with caution under these conditions:
Ce Bai Ye: Spleen deficiency cold • Stomach deficiency cold • Blood stasis • Not for long term use Oil contains thujone which can cause muscle spasms and convulsions if overdosed.
Ai Ye: Yin deficiency heat • Blood heat
Gan Jiang: Pregnancy • Blood heat • Pregnancy • Bloody mucous • Night sweats • Unexplained sweating • Heat induced pain • Heat induce vomiting
